Wins $30,000 Rings of Cash Top Prize
Louis Gerrick, a 62-year-old from Rockville, hauled in a big win. The tow truck driver scratched his way to a $30,000 top prize playing a Rings of Cash scratch-off ticket.
“As I was scratching the last numbers on the ticket, I could see that I was close to winning the top prize,” he said. “That’s when I started getting a little nervous.” The happy winner said that even after he realized he had won big, he still found it hard to believe. “I then took the ticket home to my wife for her to double check.”
Gerrick told Lottery officials that the prize money will really come in handy since he currently has one kid in college and one about to start. The lucky winner said he and his wife would also pay a few bills and maybe go to a celebratory dinner. The winning ticket was purchased at the 5-10 Quick Mart on Gude Drive in Rockville.
