Pasadena player wins $50,000 playing Ultimate Riches scratch-off
The occasional player was running errands on her lunch break when she decided to stop in Dawson’s Liquor in Severna Park to buy a scratch-off. “I just decided to try my luck,” she said, smiling. The Anne Arundel County resident randomly chose the Ultimate Riches scratch-off and played the $20 instant ticket in the store. What she revealed still has her in shock!
The payroll employee for a security company scratched the winning numbers first. Once she saw a match, she began to scratch the prize underneath. That prize was $50,000!
“I didn’t think it would be that much,” she said. “I just froze and kept looking at it.”
Once she got herself together, the married mother of two grown children texted a picture of the instant ticket to her husband. “Do you see what I see?” she texted.
Her husband said “Yes!” For further confirmation, she scanned her scratch-off using the Lottery app on her phone. It was indeed a $50,000 win.
The fortunate player returned to work and tried to act as normal as possible despite knowing she had “ultimate” riches in her purse. When she got home that evening, the happy winner and her husband both looked at the instant ticket again. They then placed it an envelope and put it up in an office until she could claim the prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
She plans to use some of the prize to purchase things for her home. The winner also will put some winnings toward the upcoming holidays and will save the rest.
Celebrating this win with the lucky player is Dawson’s Liquor located at 589 Baltimore Annapolis Boulevard in Severna Park. Other players can join in the fun and hunt for the thousands of prizes remaining on this scratch-off. Unclaimed prizes include seven $1 million top prizes, 10 more $50,000 prizes and 49 $10,000 prizes.
