Scratch-off Fan Finds Mega Win with $2,000,000 Mega Bucks Game

Silver Spring player claims $50,000 prize on $30 instant ticket

Before going to work one morning, a Montgomery County player decided to test her luck with her favorite Maryland Lottery scratch-off. The instant ticket fan stopped in Bethesda at a Giant grocery to buy a scratch-off from the Lottery vending machine.

Scrolling through the games, the determined player hunted for the $2,000,000 Mega Bucks instant ticket. The 69-year-old bought one of the $30 games and scratched it off immediately, discovering she matched one of the winning numbers for a $50,000 prize!

The Silver Spring resident called her husband to share her great news and then stored the lucky scratch-off in her bag, where it stayed until she arrived home after work. Only then did she pull it out and that was just to show it to her husband.

The happy winner plans to pay bills with her prize and put the rest into savings. The winning scratch-off she discovered at Giant #357 at 5400 Westbard Avenue is one of many scratch-offs with unclaimed prizes remaining in this game. Players can look for one more $2 million top prize, two more $50,000 prizes and several hundred thousand other prizes ranging from $30 to $5,000.
