Rosemarie Woods aka the “Scratch-off Queen” collects $30,000 in royal gems after winning with a Twisted Treasures scratch-off!
Claims $30,000 top prize on Twisted Treasures scratch-off
The “Scratch-off Queen,” as she is lovingly nicknamed by her family, added a $30,000 gem of a win to her official record as the Baltimore woman claimed the top prize on one of her favorite Maryland Lottery scratch-off games.
Rosemarie had just dropped off a prescription at a pharmacy in downtown Baltimore and decided to have some fun while she waited. The mother of two ventured across the street to Harbor Market & Deli to purchase her “favs” to help pass the time. The Scratch-off Queen sat outside the store, quietly playing her Lottery games, before getting a royal shock. The grandmother of eight and great-grandmother of nine found herself holding a $30,000 winning Twisted Treasures scratch-off!
“I almost had a heart attack, but I didn’t overreact,” said Rosemarie. “I put that ticket in my purse, got my prescription and headed on home.”
The winner said she waited a day before sharing the news with her daughter. “She was more excited than me, jumping up and down,” Rosemarie said, smiling at the memory. “I just thank God for this blessing.”
She hopes to use her blessing to help others. In addition to paying off debt, she would love to rally family members to help her rehab a house for the working homeless.
The “Scratch-off Queen” doesn’t plan to relinquish her title any time soon. She says scratch-offs are fun and she plans to continue to play her favorite three games.
For selling a top-prize ticket in the game, the lucky retailer is also a winner. Harbor Market & Deli located at 100 St. Paul Street in Baltimore will receive a $300 bonus from the Lottery. The game still has two more top-prize winning tickets and 11 $1,000 winners awaiting discovery at Lottery retailers.
