Scratch-off Winner Ready to Swap Aging Wreck for New Wheels

Claims $20,000 prize on Neon x20 game

206-Neon-x20-ITVMA Falls Church man with an aging set of wheels is ready to roll into a new car showroom with his $20,000 Maryland Lottery scratch-off prize.

The lucky player, who says his speedometer is well past the multiple 100,000-mile mark, confesses he was worried about finding money to pay for any future repairs. Those worries are over now, thanks to his purchase of a Neon x20 scratch-off. The 37-year-old found his winning instant ticket at 3 Star Liquors at 1305 7th Street in Frederick.

“I’m still shocked that I won so much money,” said the Virginia man. “I’ve won here and there but I never thought I could ever win this much.”

The excited player told Lottery officials that scratch-offs are his favorite Lottery games to play. He likes to stop and pick up a few instant tickets every now and then. Besides paying a few bills with his prize, he plans to shop for that new car.

The $10 Neon x20 game still has three $100,000 top prizes remaining along with two $20,000 prizes and seven $10,000 prizes.
