Takes home $50,000 Bingo Multiplier prize
A 44-year-old Silver Spring man was so anxious after his Maryland Lottery scratch-off win that he couldn’t sleep a wink. He tossed and turned all night as he thought about his $50,000 top-prize win on the Bingo Multiplier scratch-off.
The tired winner claimed his prize the next morning. He had purchased his $5 ticket while playing Keno at one of his favorite spots, the W Express in Silver Spring. As he waited on one of his Keno games, he purchased a Bingo Multiplier instant ticket and scratched it right there in the store. The bingo game is our lucky winner’s favorite and he’s familiar with how to play it. He’s not as familiar, however, with deciphering its winnings!
“I honestly thought it was for only $500,” he said. But, when the Montgomery County man scanned the ticket, the machine revealed a prize with two additional zeroes!
The father of two finished up his Keno games and headed home, feeling quite excited. He shared his great news only with some close family members. That night, as he tried to rest, he couldn’t knowing he had $50,000 in his future. “How do you sleep knowing that,” he said, smiling.
The lucky man, who works with masonry, plans to use his prize to pay off some bills and to help his family. He also plans to take a vacation.
Also happy with his win is the Lottery retailer. W Express located at 8550 Piney Branch Road will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling the top-prize ticket in the Bingo Multiplier game. There are still six more unclaimed $50,000 winning tickets left in the game, which just launched In September.
