Stunned by $100,000 win on The Money Game scratch-off
Buying a scratch-off wasn’t the original plan for a lucky Severn man, who was standing in line at Lucky’s Deli & Market in Odenton when he saw a customer buying The Money Game scratch-offs. He figured he would follow suit. The one scratch-off he bought gave him a $100,000 win.
“Praise the lord,” the 56-year-old recalls thinking while in the store after learning that he was a big winner. “I looked at the ticket and couldn’t believe it, I thought I may have had just a $10 winner.”
The lucky player waited several months to claim his prize, arriving at Lottery headquarters on the first business day of the New Year. He kept his scratch-off hidden, safe in his closet, until he made the trip from Anne Arundel County to Baltimore.
Our winner works as a project manager for a telecommunications company. Although very excited about his win, the Anne Arundel County resident plans to keep news of his win private. When asked of his plans, he says he is going to save most of his windfall and will also pay bills.
Lucky’s Deli & Market also has a reason to celebrate. The store located at 1101 Odenton Road will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off. There are still several prizes remaining on this exciting $10 instant ticket, including three unclaimed top prizes and 18 $10,000 prizes.
