Prize will go toward paying bills, saving for a house
A Maryland Lottery regular from Halethorpe picked up a $20,000 prize June 28 at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore – his fifth visit to make a claim in the past few years.
Choosing to remain anonymous, the 51-year-old player is well acquainted with the prize-claiming process and looking forward to his next visit. This time, he won a second-tier prize playing the $1,000 Loaded scratch-off game.
“I’m trying to win a million so I can take a day off,” he quipped.
On his previous visits, the Baltimore County resident accompanied his mother-in-law when she made a $100,000 claim and then he claimed a $77,777 prize in November 2020. He also has claimed $1,000 prizes on two occasions.
With previous winnings (and shared winnings), the lucky man has paid bills and squirreled cash away in the bank as he is saving to purchase a house. He has similar plans for this prize, though he also will give a tip to the clerk who sold him the lucky scratch-off at Quick Mart. The Lottery retailer is located at 4225 Annapolis Road in Baltimore City.
The $10 $1,000 Loaded game went on sale in May and still has seven $100,000 top prizes remaining along with seven unclaimed $20,000 prizes and 21 $10,000 prizes.
