Silver Spring Man Rides Off With $50,000 Harley-Davidson® Win

Claims first top prize on Harley-Davidson® scratch-off

208-Harley-Davidson-ITVMA 47-year-old Silver Spring man got his ticket to the open road with a $50,000 win on the Maryland Lottery’s new Harley-Davidson® scratch-off ticket.

The lucky player nabbed the game’s very first top prize when he bought his ticket at 7-Eleven #23706 in Kensington. What made him pick the new $5 ticket, which offers a second-chance contest to win one of two 2015 Harley-Davidson® Breakout® bikes, a $100 Harley-Davidson® gift card and Harley-Davidson® prize pack?

“It was different from the other games,” he said. “It caught my eye.”

The maintenance employee scratched the ticket in the 7-Eleven, which is located at 3507 University Boulevard West. He knew the ticket was a winner when he scratched the matching number. “I was just really happy to see how much,” he said.

The Montgomery County resident said he plans to use his prize toward a new home for his family and hopes Lady Luck will strike again one day. His luck also benefits the retailer, which will receive a $500 bonus for selling a top-prize ticket.

There are four $50,000 top prizes remaining on the scratch-off, which went on sale March 23 at Maryland Lottery retailers. Enter the second-chance contest through My Lottery Rewards. Each non-winning Harley-Davidson® scratch-off entered through your My Lottery Rewards player loyalty account equals one entry into the drawing. The first drawing deadline is June 28.
