Slurpee Trip Yields $100,000 Winning Scratch-off

A Slurpee craving led this District Heights winner to her $100,000 scratch-off prize. Her boyfriend joined the celebration!

Fan finds top-prize win on Diamond 10s game

A District Heights scratch-off player is $100,000 richer, thanks to her decision to visit a nearby 7-Eleven to enjoy a Slurpee. The lucky lady wound up in the right store at the right time to buy a Diamonds 10s scratch-off that carried the game’s $100,000 top prize.

Our happy winner, nicknamed “Chell,” was filling up her icy beverage at the Slurpee counter when she noticed the Maryland Lottery scratch-offs for sale. She said to herself, “Why not!” Selecting a game was no problem because “Chell” picks instant tickets based on her favorite colors. The turquois Diamond 10s scratch-off caught her eye and she made her purchase.

As “Chell” drank her blue raspberry Slurpee in her car, she scratched off the instant ticket. The 48-year-old was surprised when she matched one of the winning numbers. Originally, she thought the prize read $10 but she noticed another zero and revised her guess to $100. One last big scratch on the game removed the rest of the material covering her prize and revealed her $100,000 win.

Filled with excitement, the Prince George’s County player called her boyfriend to tell him the amazing news. He accompanied her to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim the prize. “Chell” happily shared her big plans for her winnings. The scratch-off fan will put some of the money toward her newly purchased house and may buy a new pickup truck.

Joining “Chell” in this win is 7-Eleven #29609 in Forestville. The store located at 2928 Boones Lane will receive a bonus of $1,000 for selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off. Congrats to both of our lucky winners!

The Diamond 10s game still has two unclaimed $100,000 top prizes and seven more $10,000 prizes awaiting discovery. The $10 game went on sale in June 2018.
