Florida resident “Bell” wins big after car breakdown. Claims $50,000 top-prize on 20x The Cash scratch-off.
Claims top prize on a 20x The Cash ticket
A Haines City, Florida resident saw her tables turn when her misfortune turned into a small fortune this week. The welcome reversal came by way of a lucky $5 scratch-off the 62 year-old woman purchased from a nearby store after experiencing some car trouble. Deflated spirits became elated when one of the 20x The Cash scratch-offs revealed a top prize of $50,000!
The lucky lady, going by the nickname ‘Bell’ is a regular visitor to Maryland, making the trip several times each year to visit and care for family. Bell managed to find a lucky scratch-off when she was running grocery errands earlier this week and experienced some car trouble. Instead of getting steamed-up, she opted for a scratch-off while she waited with her car, picking up two 20x The Cash scratch-offs from nearby JB Liquors.
The second 20x The Cash scratch-off revealed a 10x symbol, multiplying a $5,000 prize into one of the game’s ten $50,000 top prizes. The lucky winner told Lottery officials she allowed herself a small discrete celebration in the store before leaving to share the news with her best friend.
Bell says the funds will be helpful, saying she may use them to contribute to a family college fund and a home remodeling project.
The 20x The Cash scratch-off, which launched in January, still has a single $50,000 top-prize remaining. To try your luck at the site of the top-prize win, visit JB Liquors at 5842 Silver Hill Road in Forestville.
The lucky retailer is a winner, too. For selling a winning scratch-off ticket of $10,000 or more, the Prince George’s Country store will receive a bonus of $500 – equal to 1 percent of the prize.
