Donna Marcano-Javier of Middle River is the latest $50,000 winner on the Family Feud instant ticket.
Takes home $50,000 top prize on Family Feud scratch-off
Donna Marcano-Javier, a 57-year old grandmother from Middle River, loves watching the Family Feud game show on television. When she saw that the Maryland Lottery had its own version of the popular game show in the form of a scratch-off ticket, she happily purchased one. Donna had no idea that once she scratched her Family Feud instant ticket that the survey would say she needed to head straight to Lottery headquarters to claim her $50,000 top prize!
“At first when I scratched the ticket, I didn’t realize I had won,” she said. “That’s because I like to wait to scratch the dollar amount off last to see how much I won later.”
When Donna finally checked to see the prize amount, she received the surprise of a lifetime.
“I was excited when I saw that I had won on my ticket, but when I went to see how much I had won, I believe I instantly went into shock,” she said. “This is just so amazing. I was not expecting this.”
Donna, who is retired, said her husband will also be retiring soon, and they hope to start some home renovations.
“I would love to get central air in my home and then maybe use another potion towards our annual vacation,” she said.
The retailer is a winner as well. For selling Donna’s top-prize-winning ticket, the Shoppers Food & Pharmacy store at 1200 Eastern Avenue in Baltimore will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.
The $5 Family Feud ticket launched in April, and five of its $50,000 top prizes remain unclaimed along with eight $5,000 prizes and thousands of additional prizes ranging from $5 to $1,000.
Save your non-winning Family Feud tickets and enter them into the Lottery’s Family Feud second-chance contest, where you could win one of two remaining $50,000 prizes, or one of 20 remaining $500 prizes. Upcoming entry deadlines are July 17, 2017 and Aug. 28, 2017.
