Wins Platinum Cash Top Prize
“This is quite amazing,” said a 46-year-old painter from Talbot County when telling Lottery Officials about his good fortune. The lucky player won $100,000 playing the Platinum Cash scratch-off ticket.
The father-of-two was following his normal routine when he decided to purchase some scratch-offs before work last week. He normally buys $1 tickets, but on this day he decided to up his game and purchased two $5 tickets and one $10 ticket. After going back to his car to scratch the tickets, he saw that the one $10 ticket, the Platinum Cash scratch-off, was a big $100,000 prize winner.
The winner did not have his glasses, so to make sure he was seeing the scratch-off correctly, he took it back in the store to have it verified. Sure enough, the cashier told him to come to Lottery Headquarters to claim his prize.
“This could not have happened at a better time,” said the winner. “I definitely have plans.” Those plans include mortgage, bills and maybe some fun. The winning ticket was purchased at Acme Market located at 114-16 Talbot Street in St. Michaels.
