Wins $50,000 scratching $2,000,000 Fortune game
A Temple Hills woman who is always smiling flashed a $50,000 winning grin when she entered the Maryland Lottery’s Winner’s Circle to celebrate her $50,000 scratch-off win.
Housekeeping is her profession, but playing Maryland Lottery instant tickets is her favorite pastime. The 55-year-old scratches an instant ticket after dinner each night when her two kids are asleep and the house is quiet.
“I like to play the games when I can relax, when things are peaceful,” she said. That peace she so relishes in her Prince George’s County home didn’t last long once she began scratching a $2,000,000 Fortune instant ticket, however. “I got a little louder than I should have,” she said, “but it was $50,000!”
This big winner in the $30 game will complete a home improvement project with her prize. “I’ll be very happy to get this done finally. We all will.”
The $2,000,000 Fortune game debuted in February 2017 and continues to offer scratch-off players a shot at its sole remaining $2,000,000 top prize and one last $50,000 winning scratch-off. The instant ticket that turned a Temple Hills home upside down this week hailed from Oxon Hill Citgo at 6104 Oxon Hill Road in Oxon Hill.
