Temple Hills Worker Jolted by Mega Scratch-Off Win

Claims $50,000 prize on $2,000,000 Mega Bucks game

Selecting a random scratch-off on what seemed like just another day of playing Maryland Lottery games gave a surprised Temple Hills man his first $50,000 scratch-off win.

The 42-year-old works in construction and electrical projects, traveling to job sites in different areas around the state. On the day he found his fortune, the Prince George’s County resident stopped at Ollie’s Beer, Wine and Deli located at 2011 Veirs Mill Road in Rockville. He bought just one of the $30 $2,000,000 Mega Bucks scratch-offs. Discovering the big prize gave him a jolt.

“I was surprised and happy,” said the winner. He hasn’t made any plans yet for enjoying his windfall and is keeping his win quiet, too. He shared news of his good fortune only with a few close friends and relatives.

The $2,000,000 Mega Bucks game debuted in February 2018 and is one of the Lottery’s three $30 games. Players can find plenty of prizes remaining, including two more $2 million top prizes, four $50,000 prizes and five $5,000 prizes.
