Lottery players across Maryland win nearly $25.3 million in seven days
Maryland Lottery players won or claimed nearly $25.3 million in prizes from Aug. 12-18, highlighted by a $1 million top-prize-winning Gold Rush X100 instant ticket claimed by an auto mechanic from Essex.
The scratch-off was purchased at Norman’s Liquors, 1701 Eastern Boulevard, in Essex and was one of 17 tickets worth $10,000 or more sold or claimed in the seven-day span. Of those, four were draw game winners and the other 13 were scratch-off tickets.

Thousands of other people won amounts ranging from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars. On average, Maryland Lottery players won more than $3.7 million a day in Fiscal Year 2019.
The Maryland Lottery encourages players to check their tickets by scanning them at any Lottery retailer or with the Lottery’s mobile apps. Winners have 182 days from the date of a drawing to claim the prize. For scratch-off games, winners have 182 days from the announced end-of-game date to claim prizes, with last claim dates published in the scratch-off section of mdlottery.com.
