The Week in Winners: $1 Million Prize Claimed, $775,000 Winner Still At Large

Big hits in Taneytown, Gaithersburg, Elkridge among $22.5 million scored in seven days

Maryland Lottery players won or claimed nearly $22.5 million in prizes from Aug. 19-25, highlighted by a $1 million top-prize-winning Max A Million instant ticket claimed by Paul Hooper Jr., of Taneytown, and a jackpot-winning Multi-Match ticket worth $775,000 that remains unclaimed.

Paul bought the $20 Max A Million scratch-off at Liquor Barn, 520 East Baltimore Street in Taneytown and the store receives a bonus of $1,000 for selling the big winner.

The unclaimed Multi-Match ticket is from the Aug. 19 drawing. It has the numbers 18, 24, 34, 35, 38 and 41. The lucky winner bought the ticket at Giant grocery #368, at 842 Muddy Branch Road in Gaithersburg. Check your tickets!

In all, 19 tickets worth $10,000 or more were sold or claimed, including 15 scratch-offs and four draw game tickets.

Thousands of other people won amounts ranging from a few dollars to a few thousand dollars. On average, Maryland Lottery players won more than $3.7 million a day in Fiscal Year 2019.

The Maryland Lottery encourages players to check their tickets by scanning them at any Lottery retailer or with the Lottery’s mobile apps. Winners have 182 days from the date of a drawing to claim the prize. For scratch-off games, winners have 182 days from the announced end-of-game date to claim prizes, with last claim dates published in the scratch-off section of mdlottery.com.
