The Week in Winners: $250,000 Powerball Ticket Sold in Thurmont; Several Big Prizes Unclaimed

Substantial scores in Aberdeen, Callaway, Baltimore among $26.1 million won in past week

Maryland Lottery players won or claimed nearly $26.1 million in prizes from Aug. 26-Sept. 1, highlighted by a winning Powerball ticket worth $250,000 sold in Thurmont in the Aug. 31 drawing. The prize is unclaimed.

The Powerball hit was a third-tier prize, typically worth $50,000, but the lucky player paid an extra $1 to add the Power Play multiplier feature. A Power Play multiplier of 5 increased the prize to a cool quarter million. Check your tickets! The winning numbers to match are 14, 41, 50, 56 and 57; the Powerball was 18. The lucky sale took place at 7-Eleven #39147 located at 140 Frederick Road. The winner must claim the prize at Maryland Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

In all, 19 tickets worth $10,000 or more were sold or claimed in the seven days ending Sept. 1, including 11 scratch-offs and eight draw game tickets.

The Maryland Lottery encourages players to check their tickets by scanning them at any Lottery retailer or with the Lottery’s mobile apps. Winners have 182 days from the date of a drawing to claim their prizes.
