The Week in Winners: Cash4Life Player in Rosedale Tops Lottery Prize List With $1,000 a Week For Life

Prizes totaling more than $34.3 million won or claimed during the week ending Aug. 8

A Cash4Life player in Rosedale won a second-tier Cash4Life prize of $1,000 a week for life, while two Maryland Lottery scratch-off tickets sold in Sykesville and Bel Air each paid $100,000 in the past week.

The Cash4Life winner can choose between annual payments of $52,000 a year for life, or a one-time payment of $1 million (both amounts are before taxes).

Meanwhile, Maryland Lottery players in Baltimore, Gaithersburg, Hampstead, Millersville, Pasadena and Parkton bought or cashed tickets worth $50,000 each in the past week.

In all, 29 Maryland Lottery players across the state won or claimed prizes of $10,000 or more, and the Lottery paid more than $34.3 million in prizes in the seven days ending Aug. 8.

Winners of prizes larger than $25,000 must redeem their tickets at the Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore, which is open by appointment only. Prizes of up to $5,000 can be claimed at any of more than 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) locations. The Maryland Lottery encourages players to check their tickets by scanning them at any Lottery retailer or with the Lottery’s mobile apps. Draw game winners have 182 days from the date of a drawing to claim their prizes, and scratch-off winners have 182 days from the announced end-of-game date.
