The Week in Winners: Powerball, Scratch-offs Deliver $100,000 Prizes in Chestertown, Frederick, Hyattsville, Riverdale

Players across Maryland won or claimed $24.7 million during the week ending Dec. 20

Four Maryland Lottery players landed $100,000 prizes in the past week, including two Powerball winners in Chestertown and Frederick and two scratch-off winners in Riverdale and Hyattsville.

As of Dec. 21, neither of the big Powerball prizes had been claimed, and there were seven other unclaimed prizes of $10,000 or more on draw game or FAST PLAY tickets that were sold last week.

In all, Lottery players won or claimed nearly $24.7 million in the seven days ending Dec. 20, including 25 tickets worth $10,000 or more that were either sold or claimed during that span.

The Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore is closed for the final two weeks of December as part of the State of Maryland’s COVID-19 mitigation efforts. The Claims Center will reopen by appointment only on Jan. 4.

Lottery retailers and Maryland’s casinos will continue to cash winning tickets without interruption. All Lottery retailers are authorized to cash winning tickets up to $600, and approximately 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) retailers are authorized to cash tickets valued up to $5,000. Prizes up to and including $25,000 can be claimed at any of Maryland’s six casinos with no appointment necessary. Prizes of $25,001 or more must be claimed by appointment at the Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore. More information is available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
