Players across Maryland won or claimed $28.4 million during the week ending Dec. 27
A pair of $50,000 prizes on Bonus Match 5 and Powerball and a half-dozen big Racetrax wins highlighted the holiday season for Maryland Lottery players.
The Dec. 24 Bonus Match 5 drawing and the Dec. 26 Powerball drawing each produced a $50,000 prize. Meanwhile, six Racetrax players won prizes of more than $14,000 last week, four of whom landed their big wins on a 9-10-11 Trifecta that hit on Dec. 24. One of those Trifecta winners added the Bonus option, tripling the base prize because the race had a 3X Bonus multiplier.
In all, Lottery players won or claimed nearly $28.4 million in the seven days ending Dec. 27, including 20 tickets worth $10,000 or more that were either sold or claimed during that span.
The Maryland Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore is closed until Jan. 4 as part of the State of Maryland’s COVID-19 mitigation efforts. The Claims Center will reopen by appointment only on Jan. 4.
Lottery retailers and Maryland’s casinos will continue to cash winning tickets without interruption. All Lottery retailers are authorized to cash winning tickets up to $600, and approximately 400 Expanded Cashing Authority Program (XCAP) retailers are authorized to cash tickets valued up to $5,000. Prizes up to and including $25,000 can be claimed at any of Maryland’s six casinos with no appointment necessary. Prizes of $25,001 or more must be claimed by appointment at the Lottery Claims Center in Baltimore. More information is available on the How To Claim page of mdlottery.com.
