Finds $50,000 prize playing $2,000,000 Fortune game
A Prince George’ County man is happily riding a winning streak that started when he played the Maryland Lottery’s $2,000,000 Fortune game. Three winning scratch-offs have delivered a growing fortune with his latest prize hitting the $50,000 mark.
The College Park resident’s first $2,000,000 Fortune instant ticket gave him a $30 prize, which he reinvested into another scratch-off in the $30 game. He won $200! The 61-year-old pondered his next move for a minute, trying to decide if he should purchase another instant ticket or just go on his merry way. He decided to purchase two more $30 instant tickets from Shoppers #2366 in College Park and took them home to play later.
When he sat down at home to see if another fortune had arrived, the hopeful player took a short cut to check for winnings. “I only scratched the prize box and scanned the tickets on my phone,” he said. “The first ticket said ‘Not a winner.’ The second ticket said $50,000! I had to look at it several times to really believe I had won that much.”
The lucky transportation worker has won other Lottery prizes over the years. In 2015, he won Ravens season tickets through the scratch-off’s second-chance contest. He also won $10,000 on a Platinum Play instant ticket.
“I have just been feeling lucky lately so I have to keep playing,” he said. “I guess I have a lucky charm somewhere that I do not know about. This will make my vacation next week just that more enjoyable and provide me with the opportunity to purchase more Lottery tickets!”
His lucky retailer is ready and waiting for his arrival! Shoppers #2366 is located at 4720 Cherry Hill Road in Prince George’s County. Plenty of prizes remain on the $2,000,000 Fortune game, including four more $2 million top prizes. Players can also look for 10 $50,000 prizes and thousands of others ranging from $30 to $500.
