Sykesville man wins $50,000 Bonus Match 5 top prize

Earlier this afternoon, Lawrence Rezabek came into Lottery Headquarters, with a big smile on his face after winning a $50,000 from playing Bonus Match 5. A regular Lottery player, the 63-year-old purchased his ticket at his local retailer and found out he was a winner three days later. When he went back to the retailer, he checked his ticket on the Quick Check scanner, which showed the message, “Report to Lottery Headquarters.” Excited from the news, he began to exit when the store clerk stopped him and said, “Hey, we sold a $50,000 ticket!” Lawrence happily replied, “Guess what? That was me.”

The retired winner and his wife moved back to Maryland just two months ago. The couple has lived in many other states including Michigan, Ohio, New Hampshire and New Jersey. He and his wife plan to use the prize money to fix-up their brand-new house. Lawrence also said he plans to use some of the winnings towards trips to the Dominican Republic and Mexico.

The winning ticket was purchased at Tobacco Stop Eldersburg, located at 1438 Liberty Road in Carroll County.
