Stevensville retailer sells $50,000 winner in $1 Million Fortune scratch-off game
On a recent trip across the Bay Bridge, Patricia Pressley decided to stop at the Friendly Food Store in Stevensville for breakfast. While there, she noticed a woman buying scratch-off tickets and took that as a sign that she should try her luck as well.
Patricia purchased three tickets, one of which was a winner, but not a big winner. However, she took that as another sign. She bought three more tickets, and one left her speechless: Patricia won $50,000 on a $1 Million Fortune ticket.
“I couldn’t believe it,” the lucky lady said, adding that she doesn’t play Lottery games often. Her largest previous prize was $100 on a scratch-off ticket.
“I couldn’t go to sleep,” Patricia said, adding that she waited anxiously for days before she was able to make it to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim her prize.
The Burtonsville woman has three children, but hasn’t yet shared her great news with them. She said they will find out once she surprises them with a puppy. So far she has only told a few friends. Patricia also plans to use her winnings to go back to school for nursing. She enjoys helping others and just wants to give back.
Patricia found the last of the $1 Million Fortune ticket’s $50,000 prizes at Friendly Food Store, located at 1383 Main Street in Stevensville. But the $20 ticket still has one of its $1 million top prizes waiting to be found.
