Claims $20,000 prize on Ravens scratch-off
A retired truck driver from Cambridge delivered a shocking bit of news to his very own doorstep this week. The Dorchester County native won $20,000 playing a $2 Ravens scratch-off. The excited player won his big haul after stopping by the Royal Farms #131 in Cambridge to buy gas. The 64-year-old had a long drive ahead to meet his girlfriend in Salisbury. While fueling up, he grabbed a few of the Maryland Lottery’s $2 Ravens scratch-offs.
“I decided to scratch a few of my Lottery tickets before I got back on the road,” he said. “I almost stopped cold in my tracks after I saw what the ticket was saying that I had won. Across nearly the entire play area on the ticket were $1,000 winners and over.”
The happy winner plans to help his girlfriend with some of her bills and repair her car. “After we pay a few bills down, then we’re going to go out and celebrate!”
Know who else may be celebrating? His lucky Dorchester County retailer, that’s who! For selling a top-prize scratch-off in the Ravens game, Royal Farms #131 located at 2701 Ocean Gateway in Cambridge earns a $200 bonus from the Lottery.
The Ravens scratch-off still has plenty of unclaimed prizes and a second-chance contest players can still enter. Look for three more $20,000 top prizes, six $5,000 prizes and thousands of others. Both the $2 and $5 Ravens scratch-offs offer a great second-chance promotion, too. Players enter non-winning scratch-offs from the two games into their My Lottery Rewards account for a chance to win prizes. Up for grabs in the Jan. 5 drawing are 2018 Ravens season tickets, $10,000 or $10,000 plus the designation as finalist to win season tickets for 20 years. For details, visit md.lottery.com/ravens.
