Baltimore siblings claim top prize on Cash Craze Crossword game
“Thanks for the winner!” That’s what twin sisters from Baltimore say when they buy their favorite Maryland Lottery scratch-off from their retailer. In the past, they meant the thank you as a joke but not this time! Their last visit to Doc’s Liquors in Baltimore gave them a $30,000 top-prize winning scratch-off in the Cash Craze Crossword game.
The 50-year-olds buy instant tickets weekly. After winning only small amounts on their favorite game, the “Winning Twins” say finding the top prize came as a shock. “My heart was beating fast,” recalled one of the siblings. She asked her twin to come and look over the instant ticket with her to confirm the win. Her twin was just as surprised at their Lottery luck!
What will they do with the prize? “Put it in the bank” was the first response from the “Winning Twins.” One of the two city residents also plans to use some of her share of the prize to take care of her family members, including three children and eight grandchildren.
Their lucky Baltimore City retailer is Doc’s Liquors located at 1501 N. Fulton Avenue. The store will receive a $300 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning ticket in the game.
