Easton woman wins game’s $30,000 top prize
An Eastern Shore woman who buys Maryland Lottery scratch-offs several times a week enjoyed a holiday miracle of sorts after switching up her game.
The 28-year-old normally buys bingo and crossword scratch-offs. She changed her routine, however, on Christmas Eve, after stopping at the Easton Sunoco. The Talbot County resident spotted a $3 Twisted Treasures scratch-off and decided to give the colorful game a try. She bought the instant ticket and took it to her vehicle, where she scratched it off and revealed an unbelievable $30,000 top-prize win. To her relief, the retailer assured the Easton woman that Christmas Eve was her lucky day.
“This is my Christmas miracle,” the happy player said. She plans to pay off some debt and possibly take a much-needed vacation. The six-year mental health worker has only shared news of her big win with a few family members and Bella, her Yorkshire terrier.
For selling the game’s top-prize scratch-off, the Sunoco station located at 8359 Ocean Gateway receives a Lottery bonus of $300. There are still four top prizes remaining in the game, along with numerous prizes from $3 to $1,000.
