Two $20,000 Mega Millions Tickets Sold in Maryland

State also has nine $5,000 winners in June 2 drawing

Maryland is full of Mega Millions winners this morning! Although an Illinois player bought the jackpot-winning ticket for the Tuesday, June 2 drawing, our state still has 88,856 winners from $1 to $20,000.

This morning, the Lottery is looking for those two lucky players who matched four numbers and the Mega Ball AND added Megaplier to their tickets, boosting their wins to $20,000. Nine players matched four numbers and the Mega Ball to win $5,000.

The jackpot climbed to $260 million with a cash option of $158.5 million just before the drawing. The winning numbers were 2, 9, 11, 22 and 23; the Mega Ball was 12 with a 4x multiplier. Nationally, more than 3.2 million tickets were winners.

Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location until they can claim their prizes. Winners have 182 days to claim their prizes.

The last Maryland jackpot win came in March 2014, when Maryland and Florida players split a $414 million jackpot. That winning ticket was sold at Lady’s Liquors in La Plata. In 2014, the state celebrated six $1 million second-tier wins.

Mega Millions tickets are sold in 46 states and jurisdictions. Odds of winning the jackpot are 1 in 259 million with overall odds of winning 1 in 15.
