With the jackpot still rolling, Marylanders have won five $50,000 prizes in the past two drawings
Check your Powerball tickets from Saturday’s drawing, Maryland! Even though no one hit the $625 million jackpot, there were two $50,000-winning tickets sold in our state, and 86,517 other winning tickets ranging from $4 to $100.
The Maryland Lottery is looking for the lucky players who bought winning tickets worth $50,000 at 7-Eleven #23694 at 10550 Baltimore Avenue in Beltsville and New Carrollton Liquors at 8433 Annapolis Road in Hyattsville. The winning numbers were 24, 25, 52, 60 and 66; the Powerball was 5. Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. Winners have 182 days to claim their prize in person at Lottery headquarters, located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore.
During the current Powerball jackpot roll, which began in late December, Maryland players have piled up a total of 19 $50,000 wins. In addition to the two in Prince George’s County on March 23, the March 20 drawing produced three $50,000 prizes, with winning tickets sold at the 7-Eleven #34259, 529 North Charles Street, Baltimore City; Beverage Barn, 3000 Emmorton Road, Abingdon (Harford County); and Food Rite, 308 East Market Street, Snow Hill (Worcester County).
The Powerball jackpot rolled to $750 million for the Wednesday, March 27 drawing, making it the third-largest in the game’s history and fourth-largest in U.S. lottery history behind the world record $1.586 billion jackpot of January 2016, the $1.537 billion Mega Millions jackpot won in October 2018 and the $758.7 million Powerball jackpot won in August 2017. The cash option is $465.5 million.
Maryland is home to two Powerball jackpot wins: $128.8 million in December 2011 (Elkton, Cecil County) and $108.8 million in September 2011 (Abingdon, Harford County). In 2019, Maryland has had two $1 million Powerball wins (Hagerstown and Newburg), and a total of of 581,844 winning Powerball tickets have been sold in Maryland during the Dec. 29-March 23 jackpot run. Powerball has had 25 drawings in a row without a jackpot winner.

Odds of winning the jackpot are approximately 292 million to 1. Overall odds of winning any prize are about 25 to 1.
