Power Play feature doubles prizes in Wednesday’s drawing
Congratulations, Odenton! Two convenience stores in this Anne Arundel County town sold $100,000-winning Powerball tickets with the Power Play feature in the Wednesday, Oct. 28 drawing. While no one hit the jackpot, there were 12,498 winning tickets sold in Maryland with prizes ranging from $4 to $100,000.
The Maryland Lottery is looking for the lucky players who bought the $100,000 winning tickets at Royal Farms #149 at 1558 Annapolis Road and at High’s #048 located at 1624 Annapolis Road. The winning numbers were 11, 28, 37, 40 and 53; the Powerball was 13 and Power Play was 2x. The two $100,000 winners matched four of the first five numbers and also had the Powerball number to win base prizes of $50,000. They doubled their prizes to $100,000 by adding the Power Play feature.
Lottery officials encourage winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location until claiming their prizes. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
The $100,000 winners can claim prizes by mail or in person by appointment at the Lottery headquarters’ Customer Resource Center located at 1800 Washington Blvd. in Baltimore. Winners of smaller prizes can claim by mail or at Lottery retailers. Get details on how to claim by mail here, how to schedule an appointment here and how to cash prizes of up to $5,000 at Lottery retailers here.
The Powerball jackpot rolled to $127 million for the Saturday, Oct. 31 drawing. The cash option is $98 million.
This year, Powerball players in Maryland have won 32 third-tier $50,000 prizes. The last Powerball jackpot win was for $94.8 million and came in the Sept. 16 drawing, with the winning ticket sold in New York.
