Claims Top Prize on Lottery King Size Bingo Instant Ticket
Hard hats, lunch pails and breaks to warm up in a convenience store near the worksite are just part of the job for one utility worker. But the Mechanicsville resident was jolted out of his comfortable routine last week when his Maryland Lottery scratch-off revealed he’d won the game’s last $150,000 top prize.
The lucky man took a chance on a $10 King Size Bingo scratch-off because he liked the look of the ticket. After scratching off the entire ticket, the 55-year-old saw that one of the card’s play areas was nearly full. Looking closer, he spotted an ‘E,’ which meant he won the game’s top prize! “I immediately locked the ticket up in my lunch pail,” the winner said, and then he quietly finished his workday.
The St. Mary’s County resident shared the news with his girlfriend of two years when he returned home. Doubting his good fortune, he remained cautiously excited until a phone call to Lottery officials confirmed that the ticket was a winner. Then, he just had to hear the news twice!
The couple will save the prize for their future life together, possibly spending the money to achieve their dreams of wedding bells and home ownership. “I like the idea of just having a nice nest egg,” he said.
Our winner found his Lottery luck at Pegg Road Shell located at 22141 Three Notch Road in Lexington Park.
