Wins $50,000 With Player’s Club Scratch-off
Deborah Barrett of Bowie has been playing lottery games for years with small moments of luck here and there, but never a big win. The last place she expected to find her fortune was on vacation with her family in Ocean City. Lottery luck, though, works on its own schedule.
“I stopped in at a 7-11 to pick up a newspaper for the coupons,” she told officials. While there, a lottery scratch-off caught her attention. “I hadn’t planned on getting any tickets, but my eyes kept being drawn to this one game.” She scratched her Player’s Club instant ticket in the parking lot and it’s there that she spent the next three hours of her vacation. “I was so much in shock that I couldn’t move. There was no way that I could drive.”

Deborah’s $50,000 win altered her vacation plans immediately. She and her husband returned to Baltimore to claim their prize. “We wanted to make sure it was real. Now that we know, it’s back to the beach for a lobster dinner.” The winning ticket was sold at the 7-11 convenience store at 11911 Coastal Highway in Ocean City.
