Wins $50,000 Lucky Streak Scratch-off Top Prize

Christopher Collins was out looking to pick up some flowers for Valentine’s Day when he decided to buy a Pay Day Doubler scratch-off. The 19-year-old chef ended up finding one heck of a surprise when he scratched the ticket and revealed a $50,000 top prize.

After checking his ticket outside of the store he began shaking, “I seriously thought it was a dream,” Collins said. “I tried to call everyone to let them know.” He quickly went back home and woke up everyone in the house. While some of his family members were excited, some people still didn’t believe him. “He was just shaking while showing us the ticket, we couldn’t believe it!” his adoptive mother said smiling.

His family, including his wife and young daughter, accompanied him into Lottery headquarters yesterday to be a part of the fun. His wife certainly had a nice Valentine’s Day — courtesy of the new win. “He’s gotten me quite a bit of chocolate,” she laughed. “It’s been one of our best holidays so far.”

Collins plans to buy a car, a grill and start a college fund for his young daughter. The winning ticket was purchased at Giant Food #332 on 11604 Reisterstown Road in Reisterstown.
