A 32-year-old Arlington, Va. woman’s pit stop for gas on the way home from work led to a windfall of Maryland Lottery cash. The lucky player filled up her tank and purchased just one Bingo Gold scratch-off at the Langley Park Exxon in Hyattsville. She won $10,000!
After purchasing the instant ticket, the restaurant employee headed home to play the game. She enjoys playing bingo and that’s why she chose the $10 Bingo Gold game. Because she is familiar with the game, she was pretty sure she won.
“Even though I knew, I went back to the store to have them check,” she said. “When they couldn’t cash it, I knew I was right.”
The happy and excited woman claimed her prize several weeks after her win because she had to wait for time off from her job. She claimed the $10,000 prize with her 2-year-old daughter and husband in tow. She plans to use the winnings for Christmas fun and will save the rest.
