Superfecta bet brings home much-needed prize
A 41-year-old Rockville man is hearing wedding bells after winning $48,502 playing the Maryland Lottery’s Racetrax game.
A generous dose of Lottery luck with his favorite game is giving Fnu Lahmuddin enough money to tie the knot and improve his job options with career training. The part-time worker prayed and played a Racetrax Superfecta bet and won! He could not control his emotion when telling Lottery officials that now he can marry his fiancé.
“We really want to get married and now I have the money to do that,” he said, tears in his eyes. “I prayed that I would win so I could marry her right away.”
Fnu, originally from Indonesia, placed a quick pick Racetrax Superfecta bet at his favorite retailer, Food Stop Mini Mart located at 4820 Boiling Brook Parkway in Rockville. The Montgomery County man watched in astonishment as the virtual horses crossed the finish line in the exact order in which their numbers appeared on his ticket.
“Is this true?” he asked himself at the time. “I just could not believe it!”
Fnu rushed home to share the news with his brother, who verified the win for him. When he delivered the good news to his fiancé, she “just cried and was so happy,” Fnu said.
In addition to spending his prize on his upcoming nuptials, Fnu plans to help friends and family members financially and enroll in cosmetology school.
He’s not the only winner – retailer Food Stop Mini Mart will receive a $485 bonus for selling a winning Racetrax ticket over $10,000.
