Lucky tickets bought in Baltimore, Cambridge, Finksburg, Frederick, Temple Hills
Our weekend storms blew in some powerful Lottery luck for Maryland Powerball and Bonus Match 5 players. The Maryland Lottery is looking for our new Powerball millionaire, two $50,000 Powerball winners and two $50,000 top-prize Bonus Match 5 winners.
Check your tickets closely if you bought them one of these Lottery retailers:
- $1 million winning Powerball ticket — Jiffy Mart located at 3137 Baltimore Boulevard in Finksburg (Carroll County).
- $50,000 winning Powerball ticket — Rose Hill Service Center, 1561 Opossumtown Pike, Frederick (Frederick County)
- $50,000 winning Powerball ticket — Cambridge Super Soda, 106 Cedar Street in Cambridge (Dorchester County)
- $50,000 winning Bonus Match 5 ticket — Friday, Aug. 13: Giant #117, 6223 Baltimore National Pike, Baltimore (Baltimore County)
- $50,000 winning Bonus Match 5 ticket — Sunday, Aug. 15: Giant #342, 4119 Branch Avenue, Temple Hills (Prince George’s County).
Although no one in Maryland hit the Powerball jackpot in the Saturday, Aug. 14 drawing, there were 18,525 winners statewide. The winning Powerball numbers to match are 6, 21, 49, 65 and 67; the Powerball was 18 and the Power Play multiplier was 2. The Powerball jackpot rolled to an estimated $274 million for the Wednesday, Aug. 18 drawing with a cash option of $197.7 million. This is Maryland’s third second-tier Powerball prize of 2021, and the two $50,000 tickets gave us our 36th and 37th third-tier winners.
The winning numbers for the Aug. 13 Bonus Match 5 drawing are 4, 20, 24, 32 and 34; the Bonus Ball was 14. The winning numbers for Aug. 15 were 2, 21, 22, 31 and 32; the Bonus Ball was 28. Bonus Match 5 has now had 31 top-prize-winning tickets sold in 2021.
Lottery officials encourage the winners to sign the backs of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. Winners get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. Instructions on claiming prizes in person or by mail are available HERE.
Three of the retailers earn a bonus for selling the winning tickets. Jiffy Mart earns a $2,500 bonus while Giant #117 and Giant #342 each receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
