An Eastern Shore man who bought a $2,000,000 Fortune scratch-off after his Saturday work shift certainly kick-started his weekend fun. He won $50,000!
The lucky player from Queen’s Anne’s County wrapped up a long workweek at a retail store and headed out to enjoy his weekend. Before going home, the Chestertown resident decided to treat himself to a Maryland Lottery scratch-off at Phillip’s Mart located at 119 E. Main Street in Sudlersville.
He told Lottery officials that he didn’t want to settle for just any scratch-off, however. The 52-year-old decided to purchase the “big one” from the Lottery retailer and bought a $30, $2,000,000 Fortune game.
In a rush to get home and start his weekend fun, the loyal player decided to scratch only the Prize Check area on the instant ticket and scan it at the store. His hopes of winning big came true! After realizing he won $50,000, the lucky player casually walked out of the convenience store as if nothing had happened. What a win!
The happy father of four plans to use his prize to help fund his children’s education costs. He left many prizes in the $2,000,000 Fortune game, such as a $2 million top prize, two $50,000 prizes and thousands of others ranging from $30 to $5,000.
