Women each get $402,416.25 before taxes
A pair of Western Maryland players made Maryland Lottery history this week by shipping their $1 million winning 100x The Cash scratch-off ticket to headquarters via FedEx® to claim their prize.
The lucky players, both in their 40s, hail from Cumberland and Frostburg. The two-way split gives each woman a prize of $402,416.25 before taxes. The winning ticket was purchased at Martins #6003 located at 739 Park Street in Cumberland. For selling a top-prize $1 million winning scratch-off, the Allegany County grocery earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
It was not the first time that the Lottery has received a winning ticket via FedEx shipment, but it is the largest prize that has ever been claimed that way. Some players also claim prizes by sending their tickets via U.S. Mail. For any prizes larger than $600, winners must fill out a claim form, available by download at mdlottery.com, and also must provide proof of their Social Security number and photo ID proof that they are at least 18 years of age.
The $20 100x The Cash game is loaded with prizes, including three more $1 million top prizes, five $50,000 prizes, 26 $10,000 prizes and thousands of others ranging from $20 to $5,000. A member of the Lottery’s multiplier family of scratch-off games, the 100x The Cash game is joined by 5x The Cash, 10x The Cash, 20x The Cash and 50x The Cash scratch-offs.
