Ticket still has two $250,000 instant top-prizes remaining
White Marsh resident Vanessa Williams was stunned by the applause she received as she walked into the winner’s lounge at Lottery headquarters. A crowd of well-wishers and an oversized check bearing Williams’ name with the phrase “Season Tickets for Life” produced an overwhelming surprise. “I didn’t believe it at first,” said Williams.
The 33 year-old Motor Vehicle Administration employee, has been a Baltimore Ravens fan for many years, but has only attended two games at M&T Bank stadium. Now, for the next 20 years, Vanessa will receive a pair of tickets and a parking pass to every Ravens home game.
The drawing, which was held Thursday, February 9, was the culmination of the Ravens Cash Fantasy Internet promotion. After being selected, Williams received a call from Lottery officials informing her that she had won a prize. When she was told that the actual prize won would not be revealed until Friday at Lottery headquarters, she knew it had to be something large.
The win was a collective effort. Family and friends who knew Williams was trying to win the prize supplied yards from their own Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-offs so she could enter them into her account for the drawing. “Everyone is so excited for me,” said Williams.
The drawing, which was held Thursday, also awarded many other Ravens-themed prizes. John Menzel of Salisbury won $1 million. Allen Lewis from Oxford won season tickets for 2012. Both James Brown from Baltimore and Roger Sheppard from Crownsville won trips-for two to the Bahamas for the Ravens cheerleader calendar shoot. Amy Stolarski from Annapolis, Jessica Smith from Hagerstown, Nyhuya Johnson from Annapolis, Marti Stepner from Baltimore and John MacDonald from Newark, DE each will receive an entire suite for 24 people at a Ravens home game next year. For the third year in a row, the Lottery partnered with the Ravens to launch the Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off. To enter the promotion, players scratched the perforated section at the bottom of their Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-offs and entered the extra yards online.
There are still chances to win on the Ravens Cash Fantasy scratch-off. The ticket, which is more than 97% sold, still has two instant $250,000 top-prizes remaining.
