Wins $50,000 on two separate tickets
Everything fell into place on April 6 for one lucky Anne Arundel County man when he stopped by Quick Save Mart to play his Keno numbers. A last-minute decision to run his playslip twice led to a $100,000 prize.
The 50-year-old Keno fan consistently plays the same numbers. He plays a 7-spot for $5 per game and includes the Super Bonus feature, which multiplies winnings. When he approached the Lottery terminal that day, he decided to play the same numbers twice.
While watching the game on the monitor at the store, the Gambrills man saw his numbers come up one by one.
“I stood there quietly looking at my tickets and looking at the screen,” he told Lottery officials. “I couldn’t believe it.”
The prize for matching seven of seven Keno numbers is $2,500. Since the winner played $5 per game, that would raise the prize to $12,500. Because he elected to play the optional Super Bonus feature, his prize quadrupled. The two tickets boosted the prize to the grand total of $100,000!
The lucky player said he plans to use the winnings to pay some bills. For selling a winning Keno ticket of $10,000 or more, Quick Save Mart at 524 Defense Highway in Annapolis receives a bonus of $1,000 from the Lottery – equal to 1 percent of the prize.
