10X Cash scratch-off delivers $10,000 prize
The Orioles started the winning last Saturday with a 6-3 victory over the Athletics. The luck continued, at least the Lottery variety, well past the 9th inning for one of their employees. Catherine Konerth won $10,000 playing the 10X Cash scratch game upon returning from work at Camden Yards.
Catherine, 84, has greeted special guests and Orioles players at the ballpark lobby for 22 years, making all feel welcome and helping the VIP’s find the way to their seats. Before leaving her home in South Baltimore for work last weekend, she asked her son to pick up an instant ticket to play that evening. Lottery luck guided his car to Shoprite in Glen Burnie and his hand to that 10X Cash ticket. Catherine did the rest.
“I honestly thought I was going to collapse when I saw the $10,000,” Ms. Konerth told officials. “I called for my son to look at it. I just didn’t trust my eyes.” A quick trip to a nearby lottery retailer removed all doubt – the $10,000 win was real. “We sure did celebrate that night.”
The mother of three, grandmother of three and great-grandmother of five plans to pay bills with her 10X Cash winnings. “It’ll be nice to settle these debts I’ve been worrying about. I’ll be able to relax a bit.” Catherine’s lucky Lottery retailer is the Shoprite store at 6710 Ritchie Highway in Glen Burnie.
