‘Winning Dad’ All Smiles after Trio of Horses Deliver Second Big Racetrax Win

“Winning Dad” of Temple Hills is all smiles behind his giant check after claiming his second big Racetrax prize.

Claims $22,517 prize from Trifecta Box bet

Playing Maryland Lottery games is a regular event for a lucky Prince George’s County man, who enjoyed making his second trip to the Winner’s Circle at Lottery headquarters to claim a big prize.

In 2016, “Winning Dad” won $48,000 playing Racetrax. The Temple Hills father of two just returned this week to claim a $22,517 Racetrax win.

The 47-year-old found his big win at J’s Quik Stop located at 790 Harry S. Truman Drive in Upper Marlboro. He regularly buys Lottery tickets at his lucky store. “Winning Dad” plays all Lottery games, but, on this particular day, he chose to play Racetrax. The lucky man says that he likes to play high numbers and that decision led to another high-numbered win. He placed a Trifecta Box wager on the 9, 11 and 12 horses and they crossed the finish line together, ahead of the pack.

“I just looked at the ticket and smiled,” said the “Winning Dad.” He hasn’t shared the great news with anyone but says he may do so at some point.

The winner has worked as a self-employed barbershop owner for 15 years. He plans to spend his prize on bills and taking care of his children.

J’s Quik Stop will also benefit. The store earns a bonus of $225.17 from the Lottery for selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more. The bonus is equal to 1 percent of the prize.
