It was a fun night for Powerball players after a $50,000-winning ticket was purchased in Catonsville and a $231 million jackpot winner was sold just to the east of Maryland in Delaware.
The winning numbers for the April 6 drawing are: 7, 24, 37,42, 57 and a Powerball of 5.
The Maryland third-tier winner was sold at the Soda Pop Shop at 1026 Ingleside Avenue in Baltimore County.
In addition to the $50,000 winner, there were 10,523 players in Maryland who won prizes ranging from $4 to $100.
The jackpot for the winner in Delaware has an estimated annuity value of $230.8 million, with a one-time payment option of $104.9 million.
Powerball tickets cost $2, with drawings held Monday, Wednesday and Saturday nights. Powerball Double Play is a separate drawing held 30 minutes after each Powerball drawing. Players can add the Double Play option to their Powerball tickets for an additional $1, making their $3 ticket eligible for both the Powerball drawing and the Double Play drawing.
A second add-on option is the Power Play, which also costs $1. Powerplay multiplies non-jackpot prizes in the main drawing by a randomly selected factor ranging from X2 to X10. A ticket with both the Power Play and Double Play options costs $4.
The Power Play multiplier for April 6 is X2, and a single player in Texas had a ticket matching the first five numbers drawn, but not the Powerball, for a second-tier base prize of $1 million, which was increased to $2 million thanks to the Power Play option.
Powerball tickets are sold in 45 states, along with Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. Both the Powerball and Double Play drawings have nine prize tiers, with Powerball prizes ranging from $4 up to the jackpot and Double Play prizes ranging from $7 fpr matching just the Powerball to $10 million for matching all numbers drawn.
