$50,000 Scratch-off Win Leads to Revelry

Relaxing evening ends with excitement after she reveals top prize

An Anne Arundel County woman went from relaxation to revelry in just moments when she scratched off a Gold Bar Bingo instant ticket to reveal a $50,000 top prize.

The 74-year-old said she usually purchases the extended-play style Gold Bar Bingo scratch-off because she can relax, take her time revealing her caller numbers and matching them to the six bingo boards. However, her pulse began to quicken when she reached the bottom of her $5 instant ticket and matched the last spot on the final bingo card to win $50,000.

The lucky moment happened while the retiree was at home watching television. Being greeted with such a large win added unexpected excitement to her evening. Once she believed what she was seeing, the winner said a wave of relief followed when the revelry faded.

“I’m going to use my winnings to pay off debts and save a bit for a possible move,” said the lucky lady.

The Gold Bar Bingo scratch-off debuted at area retail locations in July. With this win, the popular scratch-off now has six $50,000 top prizes remaining and six $10,000 prizes.

The lucky Anne Arundel County retailer also has reason to celebrate. For selling the top-prize winning scratch-off, Staples Corner Liquors located at 1334 Defense Highway in Gambrills earned a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
