One Maryland Lottery player kicked off the workweek right thanks to a $83,201 win on the Maryland Lottery’s FAST PLAY World Championship Poker game. The ticket was sold Monday, March 2 at the Sheetz convenience store at 1300 East Patrick Street in Frederick.
For selling the ticket, the Frederick County retailer picks up a 1% bonus of $832.01.
FAST PLAY World Championship Poker is a $5 game that has been on sale since Jan. 5, and this is the first top-tier-winning ticket sold. Seven progressive jackpots remain. There are also thousands of lower-tier prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
Every time a FAST PLAY World Championship Poker progressive jackpot is won, the progressive jackpot resets to $40,000 and begins growing a bit each time a non-progressive-jackpot-winning ticket is sold.
The Lottery urges the winners to sign the backs of winning tickets and keep them safe. Winners have 182 days from the date of the drawing (or the purchase of a winning FAST PLAY ticket) to claim their prizes.
Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail. Lottery headquarters is in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, in Baltimore. An appointment is required to claim in person (no walk-ins).
