A ride or die Orioles and Ravens fan from Essex focuses his Lottery attention on games that have second-chance opportunities related to his favorite teams, but he didn’t need a second chance July 2 when he bought a FAST PLAY Home Run Riches Walk Off-Winnings ticket and won the game’s $182,263 progressive jackpot.
“I probably spend more time at the stadiums than I do at home,” he said July 23 when he claimed his prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. He has part-time concession gigs at both Camden Yards and M&T Bank Stadium during the regular season and is a season ticket holder for the Orioles.
And he has a full-time job that keeps him occupied when he’s not at the stadium. So, his home is mainly a place to sleep and watch the occasional game. But it’s also where he’ll be spending most of his winnings. He plans on using his prize to pay for some upgrades and fixes, as well as to pay off some credit cards.
His focus in buying Home Run Riches FAST PLAY tickets and Ravens scratch-offs is pursuit of second-chance prizes like Ravens season tickets or being selected as a Home Run Riches Contestant of the Game. He hasn’t been successful in those drawings yet, but he plans to keep trying.
He bought his winning $5 Home Run Riches ticket at the High’s store at 19200 Middletown Road in Parkton. The store receives a bonus of $1,000.
