Another Player Captures Top Prize on $50,000 Cash Scratch-off

Lucky Reisterstown man takes home $50,000 prize

The Maryland Lottery Customer Resource Center is overflowing with players winning the $50,000 top prize on the $20 $50,000 Cash scratch-off game that went on sale in December. The game began with 160 $50,000 top prizes and a Baltimore County man nabbed one of them.

The 72-year-old found his small fortune last week at Chartley Liquor Store in Reisterstown. The $50,000 Cash scratch-off caught the lucky player’s eye because of the number of top prizes in the game and the blue scratch-off’s color. The information technology manager purchased five of them, winning $50. He bought two more, this time winning $30 on one game and the big $50,000 top prize on the other scratch-off.

“I just could not believe what I saw when I scanned the prize check box,” said the big winner. “I had to scratch the rest of the ticket to see how I won.”

The Reisterstown player immediately signed his instant ticket and headed home to share the news with his family. When claiming the $50,000 prize this week, the great-grandfather said he planned to use the prize to pay bills and help with his grandkids’ tuition.

The happy player purchased the popular scratch-off at Chartley Liquor Store, which is located at 122 Chartley Road in Reisterstown. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning instant ticket, the Baltimore County retailer will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery.

The big winner is the 10th top-prize winner since the game went on sale on Dec. 29, 2022 and there are 150 $50,000 prizes remaining. There are also more than $1 million unclaimed prizes ranging from $20 to $5,000.
