A Hagerstown man was able to get “big bucks” with “no whammies” as he was our first $30,000 winner on the $3 PRESS YOUR LUCK® scratch-off.
“I always watched the show as a kid. I used to like the Whammy guys,” he said.
The army veteran explained he likes to use a pocket knife to scratch off his ticket. The PRESS YOUR LUCK ticket is a step-by-step game that takes the player on an adventure with some games leading to a dead end, but our winner was able to navigate through the game and ended with a $30,000 top prize.
“I had to look at it 10 times. I couldn’t believe it,” he noted.
According to our winner, he plans to use his winnings to pay off bills.
The winning ticket was sold at the Hagerstown grocery store Martins, located at 18726 North Pointe Drive. The loyal player took his ticket back to the store for confirmation and the Washington County retailer verified it was a $30,000 winner. The store will also receive a $300 bonus for selling the ticket.
“They were happier about it than I was,” the Washington County resident said with a smile.
