Baltimore Artist Creates a Masterpiece of a $100,000 Win

“The Creative Genius” of Baltimore, who paints fine art, crafted a fine $100,000 scratch-off win.

Claims top prize on $100,000 Crossword Sixth Edition scratch-off

A Baltimore City resident is calling herself “The Creative Genius” after winning the top prize on a $100,000 Crossword Sixth Edition scratch-off.

The 48-year-old government worker is a lifelong artist, which inspired her choice of nickname to tell her winning story. “This is not just a hobby for me. I have been able to sell a few paintings over the years,” she explained.

“The Creative Genius” is also an avid scratch-off player. Although she does not indulge in regular crossword puzzles, she loves to play crossword scratch-offs and is happy the Lottery offers new editions of her favorite crossword games.

She bought the sixth edition of the $10 $100,000 Crossword scratch-off at Jolly’s Food Mart in Baltimore. “The Creative Genius” noticed that her instant ticket had many words on it and was probably a winner, but she had no idea about the size of the prize. She decided to scan the prize check area to see how much she won and was shocked to see $100,000 appear.

“I kept scanning and scanning. I couldn’t believe this was real. There was no way this is a $100,000 winner,” she said. “The Creative Genius” was finally convinced of her Lottery luck and claimed her prize this week. She plans to use her fortune to pay off bills, take a vacation and make investments.

“The Creative Genius” is the fourth top-prize winner since this edition of the game went on sale on Aug. 22, 2022. Four $100,000 prizes are unclaimed along with six $10,000 prizes and 16 $1,000 prizes.

Her lucky Lottery retailer shares in the fun. For selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, Jolly’s Food Mart at 1500 North Monroe Street in Baltimore will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
