The “Original Pranksters” knew they had one winning number but were shocked to learn it was a $50,000 top prize of $50,000.
Two Baltimore County friends enjoy checking out different venues that sell scratch-offs. The women use the time to hangout, eat and see if they have any Lottery winners. They were happy to check off the third item on the list as they won $50,000 on the Big Money scratch-off.
The duo, who gave themselves the nickname “Original Pranksters” because they like to have fun and joke around, play a few times a month and put any winnings into the pot for next time.
“We definitely set a limit,” one of the winners said about their playing strategy.
“Original Pranksters” explained they like to scratch off the Winning Numbers and Your Numbers sections without revealing the prize amounts. They saw they had just one match between the two set of numbers but didn’t reveal their prize right away. Before they revealed the prize, they speculated on how much it could be.
“At least we won $5,” one of the women said joking. That “Original Pranksters” laughter turned to smiles as they saw they won the top prize of $50,000.
The duo, who work together, are both undecided on how each will spend their prize.
“I still don’t believe we won,” said one of winners.
Desantis’ Pizza Grill & Bar at 9638 Belair Road in Perry Hall is a big winner, too, as the Baltimore County retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the ticket.
Big Money went on sale in February and this is our fourth top-prize winner as players in Baltimore, St. Mary’s County and Upper Marlboro have won $50,000 on this ticket. There are still three $50,000 unclaimed tickets along with prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
